ETHEREAL VOLUMES
SCULPTING WITH LIGHT: GLASS TRANSPARENCIES
Inspired by modern architecture, which bases much of its aesthetic effects on the transparency of glass, these pieces expose the translucent structures of fused and polished glass. Both in miniature and larger formats, these sculptures become suspended moments, freezing material and time. Playing off the illusions of scale, color is used sparingly to emphasize the tensions between light and shadow, giving ethereal volume to a controlled space.
